By implementing an FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11 compliant label management system, pharmaceutical manufacturers can embrace digital technology and use it to their competitive advantage. Find out how a label management system can help your company compete in today’s challenging marketplace.
Readable barcodes are critical to production and shipping labels for supply chain accuracy and efficiency. This makes the T8000 with ODV 2D a key solution in barcode label printing applications.
The printer will retract and strike out, then reprint any labels with unreadable barcodes, ensuring only labels with readable barcodes enter the supply chain.
Continuous Ink Jet (CIJ) systems are used to print variable information, such as date or batch codes, on individual products as they move along the production line – regardless of porosity, size, shape or texture.
The DA210 printer includes a valuable printhead bad dot detection feature. If bad dots are detected the printer will stop and will require the printhead changing.
This feature is key to direct thermal applications as a faulty printhead is likely to be the main reason for printing unreadable text or barcodes, that could result in misreading instructions and misuse of medication.
FMD (Falsified Medicines Directive) will start in all EU member states from February 9, 2019. Pharmacies will be required to deploy 2D barcode scanners to scan and decommission products from the European Medicines Verification System (EMVS)
